A Cambridge Day Out | BOTANIC GARDENS

I for one, am always on the look out for a great yet affordable idea for a day out with my girls (a.k.a aleewowza [ https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC3kMDlNBYrifJ0_9O689pgA ] and Ellie [ https://wanderlustandstardustweb.wordpress.com/%5D ) and this trip was no exception. We set out one warm August morning to the Cambridge Botanic Gardens in an effort to spend time together, catching up without having to spend a lot of cash. Located a stone’s throw away from the station with links up and down the country, the gardens consist of :

40 acres of gardens and plants, popular with families and couples, plus glasshouses and a cafe.

Not only was it refreshingly chilled out for a day trip but also allowed us to have a cheeky photo shoot amongst the flowers and *squeal* succulents.

The entry to the gardens is around a fiver for an adult but you can get a discount if you have a student ID or Unidays (score!). Overall I enjoyed a really wholesome day out with the girls that didn’t break the bank!

So, long time no see… apologies about that…

However, I’m back today with a video haul of all the amazing things I brought back from my trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania. I had such an amazing time in and around Stone Town and don’t worry there are more posts to come but for now; sit back and enjoy a little taster of Zanzibar!

5 Tips to Kicksart your 2017 Fitness Journey

I know it’s nearly the end of January but  FITNESS IS FOR LIFE, NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS

Now just so you know I’m no Fitness expert or Personal Trainer or anything like that but I like to think I know a little thing or too about being vaguely healthy. I, like many others, set an improvement in my health as one of my New Year’s Resolutions and I intend to keep it up, having said that I do definitely go through phases and it CAN be hard to get back into that good spot. Here are a few of my tips and tricks to make a healthy lifestyle that little bit easier:

Santa’s Grotto Edit | Travel Diaries

So I finally actually edited one of my photos from Lapland and I think it’s super cuteeeeee!

So as I said previously I spent this past Christmas in Lapland with extended family from England AND Finland and it was *magical*. My two cousins were the perfect age to enjoy Christmas in Santa’s homeland and I think they had a really great time.

This is a snap I captured after a skidoo ride to santa’s grotto (one of the most amazing experiences) when they were exploring and playing in the snow.

DISCLAIMER: I know it’s not great as it was on my iPhone 6 but y’all can still appreciate right?

Skincare Saviours | Party Season & New Year Favourites

edited

Hello again,

I hope you all had an amazing Festive Season no matter how you celebrated. Alongside the this excitement of the season, Christmastime often brings with it heavy makeup, late nights, parties and decadent eating and drinking. As a result of all these our skin can often appear sallow, dry and un-youthful.

But never fear! These products will help clean, hydrate and perfect your face for the #NewYearNewYou:

imgp4156BODY SHOP SEAWEED DEEP CLEANSING FACIAL WASH – This affordable beauty is a deep cleansing but not stripping face wash that helps make sure you remove ALL the makeup and bacteria from your face and prep it for the products you put on afterwards. It is oil and soap free so suitable for most skin types and though it is deep cleansing it isn’t harsh like some other products.

imgp4160BODY SHOP ALOE DAY CREAM – Another product from the Body Shop; this moisturiser is light yet moisturising and soothing for parched and irritated and exhausted skin. As it is formulated for sensitive skin and is light yet effective, I would recommend it for all skin types.

imgp4163

FOREO LUNA PLAY CLEANSING BRUSH – This innovative little device is perfect if, like me, you are new on the cleansing brush scene and want to dip your feet into the waters using the one of the best brands out there. This is a smaller version of FOREO’s LUNA device that vibrates and deeply cleans your skin yet it feels like nothing at all its so gentle! Definitely an investment at £29 a pop which gets you around 100 uses but I believe its worth it to achieve the skin you’ve previously only dreamed of.

CLINIQUE PEP-START RANGE – This range is designed to give you skin a pep and also prep it for the day, whatever you throw at it. I personally own the smaller sizes of this range from a gift set but I am already in love with them! The eye brightener is so so hydrating and refreshing and the moisturiser not only moisturises but also preps the skin for makeup and provides 24-hour mattifying which is amazing for those with Oily/Combo skin. As Clinique says these are perfect for you to

“Prep. Pep.
And out the door.”

So there you have it, those are my current favourites for parched and exhausted party skin, stay tuned as I’ve got some great new posts coming up this new year! (I cannot believe its actually 2017 asasdfghjgfghjkl)

Autumn Beauty Checklist: Season Classic

Even though it’s been abnormally warm here in England in the past few days I am SO looking forward to my favourite season (AUTUMN DUH!) gracing the earth. Autumn brings to mind images of crisp leaves, warm snug evenings, warm coffees and of course; a big makeup switch-up! If you need a Autumn makeup 101 look no further than here:

ANTICLOCKWISE FROM BOTTOM LEFT:

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette – Sugar and SpiceLINK – The arrival of autumn means ditching the bright coral and barbie pink blushers and instead buying up some deep purple, maroon and more dusty shades. This palette is perfect because it covers ALL of your bases from blush to a natural bronze-y shade to a natural highlight.

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow – Mountains of goldLINK – Warm toned shadows should start to infiltrate your makeup collection as the seasons progress. This particular one is not only amazing on it’s own or blended into a look but it ONLY COSTS £1! Warm browns and dusty roses are also a good bet for autumn.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick – 107LINK – You’ve probably stumbled across this particular item before if you’ve ever been looking at beauty anywhere on the web in the Autumn/Fall Season. It is repped by those such as Zoe Sugg, Lily Melrose and of course Kate Moss. Dark, warm-toned plum/wine vibes; what more do you need?

MUA Brow Define Tinted Mascara – FairLINK – The Autumn makeup switch up calls for an end to the pencilled perfect “instagram” brow and a fluffy more natural wispy look. To get the look for less I love this £2 product. Swipe through your brows for a 1-step look.
